Tasteless? As in it's tasteless to enjoy high quality television shows such as Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Adventure Time, The Walking Dead, and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic? I'm sorry that this list isn't good enough to fit your absolutely exquisite tastes among more intelligent television, would you prefer if I watched something much more tasteful and meaningful, such as 'Here Comes Honey Boo Boo' and 'Jersey Shore'?
How original. Did /v/ teach you how to insult people? You might as well flip to a random word in a dictionary and shout that, because it would make an equal amount of sense, really.
No, it's not tastless to enjoy high quality television shows such as Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Adventure Time, The Walking Dead, and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. It is, however, tasteless to incorporate them into your public identity.
Most bronies agree that the 'brony' label is fucking stupid and shouldn't have ever existed. But it just sort of stuck. And no, 'brony' was never meant to be incorporated as a way to identify yourself. Go talk to a Juggalo, they have a stupid label and are all HAPPY to use it as a part of their identity, on top of that, instead of bro-hoofs, they yell WOOP WOOP in public like a bunch of retards. I think that's partly due to the fact that MLP:FiM is just a TV show, while ICP tells you that you have to follow their dumb philosophy they constantly shove into their songs.
holy shit, shut the fuck up, who gives a fuck. rapeman stop defending your little girl show and move the fuck on
I don't like it when people make "art" of children, the weak and the disabled being raped or abused. "Oh, it's just a cartoon". No, fuck you. Artists generally enjoy what they draw, and what they draw comes from somewhere in their lives. That may sound weird, but you can't draw things you've never seen or experienced before. A three-year old cannot draw an LSD trip, for example. Everything comes from somewhere and I feel an artist's work is a reflection of their ideas, beliefs and their personal quirks. "Just a cartoon, no kids are actually being harmed". They are fictional, but child rapists flock to people similar to them and often large groups form where they express their ideas and feel like they are acceptable. That's how child sex rings are formed.
I do agree with this to an extent. Whether or not they "enjoy" such subjects can be determined by the way they act about such works. Drawing (or writing about) something dark, degenerate, or painful like that could initially stem from empathy for the subject at hand. For example, the artist has developed a character who was a child prostitute and they want to explore his/her life experiences, point of view, and psychology. The artist has never been in this position themselves, so they study up on accounts of such thing. Child hookers aren't their fetish - they feel empathy with someone in that situation and want to understand them better. The problem can turn into something sinister, however, depending on how well they handle their research material. Have they gotten too far into the character's head? Have they gotten to far into the perspective of someone who would solicit a child prostitute? This kind of thing can always be determined on what they do along with the art. How do the comments sections read? Obviously, one can tell character development/concept art, cathartic art, and fetish art apart. However I've seen some artists who even take their catharsis art to the point of obsession, especially those who have experienced sexual trauma - it becomes a way of reliving the experience, rather than dealing with it in a healthy way.
I mean the ones that do "fetish art". The ones doing it simply because they're artists and that is apparently what they are meant to do, or that is the chosen theme of their work, don't bother me.
Agreed. Most of them are obvious sick fucks and need a bullet to the brain. I just felt like a little teal deer this evening.
