I'm only vaguely aware of his escapades. The guy is supposed to be tackling pressing issues in today's American society by being an IRL troll of sorts? (Kind of an oxymoron since he's a huge media figure now, so he sounds like just another kiddie toy for the mindless masses...)

He actually (kinda) stood up for fucking bronies once. Is he seriously going to let this bitch on and run her mouth?

Maybe she'll be hiding under the desk for most of the show?

Colbert only plays an out of touch right wing talk-show host, and he's actually as left-leaning as John Stewart. Any "tearing apart" he does will be tongue-in-cheek to try and play up the perceived absurdity of the side Anita is not for. So no, expect any and all facts to be ignored in the name of comedy, and to signal boost Anita's message to the general public.

I can hardly fault Colbert, his depth of knowledge on what's going on likely extends as far as what his producers have told him, his producers probably only know that GG is currently the hot button topic with the demographic that watches their show, and any research that was undertaken was done by interns; I wouldn't be surprised if a favor had been called in for the guest spot by someone in Anita's network either.

If anything I feel bad for the shit Colbert is going to catch after this airs, regardless of how it goes; he's a nice guy, and doesn't deserve to be dragged into this.

The show is pre-recorded in the morning, something like 10am EST I think.

Both CC's political news shows are pre-recorded to my knowledge

Then it's official: fucked. No way Anita would walk away happily from the show if it didn't pander to her... unless she is too dumb to figure out that Colbert is duping her, but I doubt that was the case...

Despite that both Stewart and Colbert are very upfront about their shows being satirical bullshit, there are a troubling number of people who form their opinions based almost solely on what they make fun of. The fear, it would seem, is that regardless of the facts people will walk away from Colbert tonight with a twisted vision of what GG is about, and never bother to delve any deeper than that while spreading the bullshit like cancer.

It's funny how jewart always says he's a comedian and he shouldn't be taken seriously but that is the exact thing he always ignores.
