Zaiger, seeing as how you've been in prison for a decade do you think you can share any survival tips for us greenhorns? Also, I want there to be a Survivor season set in prison or, at the very least, have Bear Grylls do an episode in prison. I don't expect anybody here to be able to arrange that, I'm just expressing a desire.
Depends on what the prison is. ADX Florence and Angola are concidered the worst in america. but then, ANY prison on earth is the worst prison on earth if your serving time in it.
lol Well I wasn't in prison for a decade, though I was in and out of jail for drug related offenses quite a few times. I can honestly say though that while I was living in New Hampshire I never saw a single black person until I went to jail, and there were tons of them there. I was like "Oh so this is where they keem 'em all".
Auschwitz isn't really a prison, morelike an extermination camp. The point of prisons aren't to kill the prisoners, but rather to keep them alive.
I'm pretty sure the point of prisons is to feasibly isolate certain people from society. Whether they live or die is non-consequential.
Then why don't we just send them to Australia? Seems to me that that worked out pretty well in the past.
Because then you'd have to send their bitching families. We're talking about a good portion of the Black, Injun and Latino populations in America. Ain't no way in hell America could afford that and there's even less of a chance that it can do so without political backlash.
Actually, people who're descendants from prisoners are but a minority of the population. There was a way bigger influx of gold seekers when gold was discovered than prisoners.
Not really. The entire point of prison is punishment through keeping them alive. A death sentence would be too easy.
That seems awfully sadistic for the supposed altruistic goals of governments. Then again, this is the American justice system we're talking about. Where rape is considered foreplay. Though I continue to disagree. Prisons exist to exile people and make examples out of people. They're not for punishment or rehabilitation or any of that nonsense.
But they're not. They're a deterrent. In other words they're used to make examples out of people. Any punishment only serves that purpose. HAHAHA! Have you ever met an ex-con? They're self-serving and utterly delusional. They all have a victim complex.
