First I thought DA was finally waking a move towards creating a section destined to showcase "art" that really lives up to that name, rather than the typical sparkledog/furry/fetish/animu/adoptable/imagemacro/shit in general that we are so used to see and gives the DAforum a reason to exist.

Boy was I wrong...

Turns out this is just another another way for DA to rank up on jewgold. From what I understood, "artists" are now able to have a more direct relationship with their customers by enabling the selling of download content. According to this statement, The Premium Content Platform was built to represent high-quality content — the premier pieces in an artist's repertoire of work. (Translation: the typical sparkledog/furry/fetish/animu/adoptable/imagemacro/shit in general, and one or two decent deviations).

I understand that, as a business, DA has to constantly look up for new ways to support itself and grow. However, I have my doubts about how this will turn out:

- Will the PCP actually work for DA as a way of demonstrating professionalism and a true intent of showing respect and caring for their deviants that posse an inch of talent and deserve a chance to profit further with their work? Or is this just another attempt, like I said before, to stuff their pockets?

- What will happen once the typical crap that we select for our subforums hits this platform? We've see enough shitty stuff in the DA's newest and WTF fetishes (if you remember, there are plenty of reports on that particular thread that fall on the dead ears of pedophile and fetish loving admins) from the sick minority majority of DA, and plenty of people willing to fav and possibly pay for that - how will serious buyers react to that kind of stuff, what image will it pass of DA?

- Will these fuckin' admins use their brains to ever come up with an idea that will actually enhance the quality of the work showcased in DA - unlike stupid ideas like the new rules of Daily Deviations and its low standards, which places that section en par with the 8hrs section; or the new way the popular section functions, something that for me virtually killed the shit on the frontage thread 'cus almost everything is pure shit there nowadays.

What are your thoughts EDF?
