Maybe I've been paying attention to this guy more lately, but he is really fucking awful. In other words: > Blaming yesterday for not being tomorrow He's probably pissed off at MLK for not bothering to run for President as well. His other non-Star Trek comics are pretty lulz worthy as well: This guy's Strawman Fu technique is unstoppable. It puts Dobson to shame.
Aww yeah, I remember this little retard. Star Trek was one of the most progressive shows at its time for, not only showing a Japanese man and a black woman as lead important characters, but also for putting the Russian man in charge of weapons in the middle of the Cold War. The first interracial kiss on television ever was also hella progressive and if not for Uhura the entire crew would have died multiple times. But because the POC woman isn't in absolute power she's being oppressed. You hit the nail on the head, he's so buttmad that yesterday isn't tomorrow. And what an original soul himself: an anti-Gamergating POC pandering white cis het man.
So Star Trek wasn't progressive enough for him? Did he want Uhura sitting on a throne with all the white men in chains and serving her every whim while she alone saves the day?
wow neat art sort of that was still some of the most painfully unfunny shit i've seen smug levels incalculable
It irks me that SJW compared anything from that era with modern standards to belittle them. It was a whole different world back then.
Just look at all that B^U. Yeah, well, these guys have never heard of the historian's fallacy, and presentism isn't an -ism for them.
Of all the words, in all the tongues of man, the saddest are these: Daiperfurs are less irritating than SJWs.
I watched a documentary about Star Trek with my Grandpa before he died. The actress who played Uhura, Nichelle Nichols, had seriously considered quitting the role. *this is from another interview but it is along the same context. I remember turning to my Grand Pa and asked him was it really that big of a deal? He turned to me and said, "Yes, it really was. It really was the first time a black person was in a role that wasn't a slave and was treated like a person. Same goes with Sulu. Times were different then kiddo, and you'll come to realize that people really are swayed on what they see on television and read about in the papers." Damn...he wasn't kidding. I'm just glad he didn't live to see the Tumblr and Twitter age.
