It seems like ED's and EDF's going down again occured forever ago and went on for almost as long.

Regardless, the more I try to paint, the more I realise that I need to switch to digital at the first opportunity. But there is still so much more to explore.



And only after I finished that one it occured to me that 00 brushes do exist in nature and are quite inexpensive.

Oh wow! This is looking pretty dang good. The darker values are really doing huge favors for this pic. Liking it.

I did this one a couple of weeks ago to push myself again to see how far I've gone since digital painting. Must say that I like the hell out of this one. Since I streamed to force myself to work on it non stop without procrastinating it took me around 8 hours.

That was a really forced lesson, as it was impossible to draw a decent opposite-sunset with the watered-down tones that usually seemed passable.

As far as your works from just a few months ago are concerned, the leap in quality and attention to detail is huge and immediately noticeable.

I see. I might of said this before (so I apologize) but have you tried experimenting with the water color pencils? I haven't done so myself, but a lot of artists tend to use them (or regular colored pencils) in tandem with water colors to do things that are a bit beyond the range of water colors.

Man. I really need to go back to traditional at some point. I'm starting to miss it.

That is a good call, though I decided to give it just a bit of time as I have yet to see a more complete spectrum of what watercolour can do.

Ah, fuck it - I'll give it a go as soon as I'm done with my current piece.

I could of sworn I've seen some damn good pieces done with watercolor on DA at some point. Or was it my dashboard.

Dang. When I get back from work I'll sift through my art tags to see if I can find them.

Yeah. I'm working on a "Draw this Again" meme to see how far I've come side by side.

On that note, I personally feel that watching other artists Livestream has helped me tremendously. I found out that detail really is just nothing more than well placed brush textures and strokes. Once you really realize that...details like this don't seem like mountains anymore. Just hills that get less steep with practice and time.

Picarto TV hosts some really good artist streams from time to time.

Also to any EDiots out there who use Paint Tool SAI- do you guys know of any good brush texture providers? I'm in a need for some and sifting through DA crap for the good stuff is tiring after a while.
