They're fun. Very nonrestrictive, relaxing, and a good exercise of patience, depending on the approach. They also allow me to experiment with color in a fun way. They also greatly emphasize the use of form, texture, emphasis and space.

Can a mod change "possibly" to "definitely" in this fucking thread's title?

A very rough color concept for my rabbit magician, Linota.

That one dark blue seems a bit too saturated to me. It's stark and blinding against all the other softer colors. Just ease up on it a bit, and it should be fine.

If I thought this was good enough to be the final rendition, then even the title autistic would be to good for me.

On the blue aspect, I would like to add that when adding such colors like ultramarine you use them very little, and if you are using them have them spaced out sparingly throughout the subject matter. Best examples of this are renaissance paintings where they had those colors often (when regarding Virgin Mary and other figures of royalty) yet still managed to not be distracting to the eye. It's a very hard color to really nail down. I often suggest doing color thumbnails first before and asking fellow peers to see if the color is too distracting and make adjustments accordingly.
