I figured that Humon shouldn't be alone in cannibalizing childhoods of her own and others, so I took it upon myself to mercilessly gut some old italian children's book and force it into the style that wasn't even meant for it. All because I wanted an excuse for starting to use ink.

What's the name of the children's book if I may ask?

"Le dieci citta' ", though the book practically has next to zero presence on the internet and it is rarely listed amongst Marcello Argilli's creations.

I am quick to assume that it might have had some five minutes of spotlight between 1970 and 1980, only to die before the era of the internet.

Have some illustrations that I scanned, though. Although my copy is a Polish re-release of it, illustrations are reprints of artwork from Italian release.

I'd actually say your images of this book would fit in quite well considering the atmosphere. Especially with the way you drew those people. Granted I would have to read the full story to really have a valid opinion on it, but so far I like the aesthetics you added to it.

These Ink-illustrations look really good, I dig that! I'd pay money for an entire book of that.

I used my Comic Strip notes and decided I needed more resources. So I looked up a bunch of tutorials online for joke telling as well as read a book about not only the history of jokes, but how to create them. I was really interested in that because it dealt with Puns and I can't erase Dobby's last pun comic out of my mind.

As well as a 1986 Websters Dictionary I had at my side.

So all that stuff verified what I wrote in my notes. Start the joke with the punchline first and then work on the setup. The set-up is the hardest part, but the secret is using the words meanings to help get ideas. Especially words that have more than one meaning.

Though the beauty of comic strips is the author gets to use visual humor as well. So an idea might seem pretty bad, but the visual might help it. So before I called it a day I spent 3 hours writing 15 strips ripping on Dobby just to get a feeling for the process and try to find a stride.

They might be stupid, offensive/tasteless, childish, and cliche. But hell, you gotta start somewhere. I don't really have any plans to finish these. They were just a trial run for the 3 other ideas I'm cultivating right now, but Dobby is always gets me inspired so here they are.



In the end I want to make a Comic Book/Strip hybrid project. Something was missing from every story I wrote this past year, and it was the *pause/laugh* moments. I always wanted to do goofy stuff, and load it with jokes like a sitcom. But when I go full comic book I take it too seriously and all the charm and humor I want in it gets forgotten and I lose interest in it.

I got a layout for this where it will be a standard comic book page at the start of a scene, then the rest of the scene would be made of strips, sort of like a sitcom, where they establish the beginning of a scene then it's canned laughter through the rest of it-- but before that I need to be able to make strips and more importantly jokes.

It's not too far from what some webcomics do that are Standard Comic Book pages. They have their story and try to end the page with a joke, but the timing gets thrown off and usually the story over powers it all and they forget the jokes.

The Ancient Counter-Strike Flashmovie Collection (2000-2003)

I know, this video is over 2 years old by now, I actually made this before I became active on EDF. But recent events made the sound reappear and it's not blocked for Germans anymore. I'm not sure which countries are actually blocked by the video music, though.

Has intro/outro/credits animation from me and some other visual improvements in it and my own voice, which I still consider needles in my ear.

Had a little doddle sitting around, decided to try a new color palette and mess with light and shadow. Looks like I need to read up on laying down shadows and that brown I selected for the wood was too close to her hair color. Then again it did get that expressionism look I'm looking for, it's just there isn't much of a distinction between the two.

It looks good, but there are several issues I spotted in the picture. The dark green you use for shading the ground looks off, Alex is cross-eyed, and the tricorn hat looks awfully two-dimensional the way you drew it.

Oh yeah, and the crown doesn't look like it would conform to her head.

That's because it's just got blue over it, not another green or shade of that green. Thing I'm messing around with is using the base colors for lighting and shadow when it's outside, then using complimentary color palettes for artificial light.

I lost all my old swatches and I'm trying new ones, I got a bad feeling about the ones I'm using right now aren't blending the way my old ones did. They might be too saturated.

That's my retard look. I always start characters cross eyed, then direct their pupils depending on what they're looking at or doing-- though for some reason I thought it fit with her shit-grin.

Agreed, I totally started just with the rim of her hat not paying attention to the rest of it. Should have started with an oval to wrap around her head and properly construct it. It really looks bad on her left side. The hair sticks out and the outter top should come of where the rim meets her forehead.

Also you missed the fuzzy inks, I rotated the picture AFTER inking it digitally and it's fuzzy-wuzzy all over the place. I wanted to see if I could get away with that-- but I can still see it so NOPE.

Made some changes, fixed the eyes, got some new palettes... I'll probably re-ink this if I can find something funny to put on the sign. Otherwise I'm trying to make character sheets for this thing I'm working on. She still looks like a retard when I fixed the eyes, maybe it was all in the grin.

With all these gradual light changes it looks just as if she spent entire daycycle at the counseling booth.
