Files provided by Snowden show extent to which ordinary Web users are caught in the net Source: http://www.washingtonpost.com/world...39adf8-045a-11e4-8572-4b1b969b6322_story.html Also in the headlines: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/0...zens_personal_data_to_be_stored_data_locally/
yup, pretty much but his faggotry will serve him well in Russian prison when they can't use him as a propaganda tool anymore. and the NSA was sooooooo 2013
Because languishing in a prison in solitary confinement and probably being tortured to the point it wants you to cut off your so you can become a girl is the only sensible and brave thing to do. The levels of stupid and unfunny in this post are literally over 9000. You shouldn't make political jokes, ever. In fact, go kill yourself.
He committed treason so he could tell people stuff they'd already know if they read the Patriot Act and become the Messiah of Libertarian Redditors, then ran away because he was too afraid to face the consequences of his actions; you're being far too kind. He's a double faggot.
Snowden is far from being a hero. He told us what we already knew, acted like a drama queen and continues to try to avoid getting done for treason... Among other offences. If you're going to reveal such damning information, you need to be prepared to cop it. He didn't even give us anything new. What he did was like someone retelling a joke someone standing next to them told but louder. Also Rice, it's pretty telling what kind of "hero" he is if Reddit worships him more than gamers worship Gaben. Twaek is right.
If you read the PRISM article I wrote, you'd realize there is a lot we learned. Like everyone in Germany is spied on (for some mysterious reason (Space Nazis)) or that the NSA and GCHQ push propaganda and deception on social media websites. That is the most retarded logical fallacy I have ever heard, you should feel bad for even typing it.
"Man up and face your actions" You go ahead and willingly subject yourself to mental and physical torture. Of course he's going to seek asylum, ask Manning how the US treats their political prisoners. Yeah we already knew they were spying, but if releasing the details are such a big deal, why does the government want him dead. Maybe if our James Bond spy division wasn't the 9 digit per year operation dedicated to watching over civilians and hacking our allies, Snowden wouldn't have had anything important to release. Americans want security? Well our military needs to get the fuck out of the middle east and let them take care of their own. This whole world-police shit has gotten way out of hand and they're using it as a enabler to invade the privacy of everyone and everything in the entire fucking world. Anyone who agrees with what they're doing is a pawn and a tool.
I know they get treated badly but you can't just expect to get off with just a slap on the wrist... Especially in America. He knew what he was doing was both illegal and broke contracts he'd signed, but he did it anyway. I'll agree that America has way, way too much surveillance on Americans but it's kind of a weird country to begin with. Your politicians have too much power so really, there's fuck all you guys can do at this point. I especially agree with this. I'd rather Australians not be pulled into stupid wars but we need to keep our relations with the US going, and unfortunately that involves following them into shit they start with other countries.
Also he reveled nothing we did not already know. 1) America collects meta data 2) America spy's on other country's, which ever other country does as well. As a matter of fact, Russia's version of prism is far worst and now he's a propaganda tool. so well done.
This^ Australia's intelligence agencies keep a check up on us as well as Indonesia, Germany, Russia and God knows how many other countries. It has it's good points. For example, the Arabs from west Sydney whose passports and visas were revoked... We can thank ASIO for those lolz. <3 Ty guys.
Other countries, like our allies, do not physically bug their allies embassies. I don't think you OR @MedicalParrot actually know what is going on with these leaks. The Germans just caught a spy who was not in a position where spies are tolerated.

Funnily enough, I read the news every morning with a cuppa before taking the public kanga to the bottle-o. Espionage is almost as ancient as prostitution and anyone who wants to get into that line of work needs to know about the risks involved before even considering it. Same goes for espionage, lel. Spying is such a loaded, shitty thing that every country pretty much has a free-for-all when it comes to submarines found in their waters.
So yeah, obviously people are doing their jobs competently if you aren't hearing much about exactly how much everything is watched.
Russians are not our allies, this is expected of Russians. Secondly, Australia is a proxy country for American spying under the Five Eyes.
tfw Australia has a much better relationship with Russia than America does, even though most Russians will ask, "What is an Australia?"
