Hopefully they won't use the term "African-American" because "American" is quite offensive to many. And yes, strip "America" from "Captain America."

Haha! Seems like Marvel's full of pussies! I bet they'd bend over for all those Tumblrites!
And if you ask me, Marvel already had plenty of diversity. There's so many characters they could use instead of just replacing decades-old characters.

Doesn't anyone remember the original Black Captain America, Isaiah Bradley?

Marvel was taken over by Tumblr, as the feminists believe they can fight the MRAs with comics...

... Which they won't be buying after this.

Ah yes, the other Captain America. The story was quite good and it had some pretty tragic stuff too if I remember correctly. It even took elements from the real life like the syphilis study that was carried out on black men. They should bring him into the scene, instead of getting rid of the other Captain.

It's nice to have an argument against this that isn't just screaming "NIGGERS NIGGERS NIGGERS".

I mean, I'm not against the concept of Captain America being black, but the Falcon already has an established identity-is he just gonna go away? Why couldn't Marvel just bring Isaiah Bradley into Earth-616?

The thing is, Isaiah Bradley is from Earth-616. His grandson, Elijah Bradley, is Patriot, one of the Young Avengers.

I remember, because he chewed out Hawkeye for using Cap's shield after he died.

Oh! That makes it even better! Why not just make Elijah the new cap? Or at the very least, the new Falcon.

The big issue I see with this is that they are exchanging two characters for one. Steve Rogers is going away, and Sam Wilson is becoming a different character. In the end this is just a big SJW cashgrab. There is already a black Captain Murica with a pretty fucking good backstory, and all they had to do was to bring him into the comics. But no, we need to get rid of the current one, and replace him with the Falcon.

Shit like this and the new Thor can be done well if done properly. An example that comes to mind is the Question Renee Montoya, who was a female replacement to the original question, and also happened to be lesbian. It later on became a central plot point for her, and it was done quite well.

This on the other hand, is badly executed, will alienate the current readers who have been on this for a long time, and will only bring retards who will read this for its "progressiveness" and will move on unless they keep giving in to their retarded bullshit. Well done, Marvel! :sarcasticclap:

It would be interesting to see the reaction if Marvel instead changed a black hero to white. Maybe they feared most never heard of Isaiah Bradley. Probably not because after all Thor happened a few days earlier. If the next Riddick movie got replaced by some redneck I wouldn't bother watching. Why? Because I'm attached to the original Riddick. Or maybe Marvel knows that the next generation of consumers won't care.

Well, the reason the Clone Saga happened was because Marvel decided to bring back the Scarlet Spider after thirty years, so I doubt that they're afraid that people don't know who Isaiah Bradley is. Also, I'm kind of new to the comics multiverse, so forgive for assuming that he was just a one-off AU thing.

That's nothing, the writers must have spent 20 min - if that - at the local library flipping through Zinn's History for some creepypasta.

They should have gone with Tulane. Two doctors, an aussie and a yank, got authority (it was b4 the patient's bill of rights) to drill holes in the heads of black Angola prisoners and stuck long metal rods deep into their brains and started zapping it with electricity to both fine tune it and figure out what not to do if you don't want a mess - all of this by trial and error.

The aussie doctor when asked in the late 60s why they used niggers he responded "There they were far more plentiful than cats and much cheaper." @scumhook

You're more up-to-date than I am. Either way I'd be interested to know what was said internally amongst the executives without the PR bullshit.

Just another gimmick that will revert back to normal within a year or two. I didn't know there already was a black Captain America though- that makes doubt the validity of this move even more.

That is some scary shit. Experimenting with the human brain completely through trial and error sounds fucking insane. Although Scumhook would have done it with petrol sniffers, not Angolans.

Thing is, the Clone Saga was in the 90's, when comics were still kinda popular. Comics are fighting against smartphone apps and the like, and they are losing, bad. I'd bet good money that they chose Falcon, not because of his many team-up's with Captain America, but because he was in The Winter Soldier earlier this year.
Maybe they'll make a big Ant-Man event after his movie comes out. I mean, another one.
