Think of it as the thread is making people see the truth about Dobson's shitty art and his shittier attitude towards everything (He would be seen as an ass-hole in the Good Samaritan context for doing nothing). Again, no one really gives a fuck if he regresses, but it's always fascinating to see Dobson getting shittier (How do you get worse like Dobson!? He's only doing what? 2 comics without a schedule?).


Does Dobson think everyone just wears vests and a t-shirt these days? It's either that, or anyone who isn't Brent, Dan, or Dobson has some goofy face with a mullet or a pig face with a retarded buzzcut.

When you walk, you have to have a stable leg to support yourself, with his drawing, he has his weight on his heel. I dare anyone to try putting your weight on your heel with the leg away from your body.

Second, his right leg is closest to us, so from a perspective view, his right leg should be slightly bigger than the left, here it's the opposite. His left foot is stepping where his right foot should bee stepping.

...This is what you learn when making walk-cycles....this is what makes me VERY angry...this is BASIC.

There's animation? That implies thing "move" not "jump from one awkward pose to the next one".

Lessee, pencil looks horrible, Big Daddy's elbow is hovering above the bar, nobody in Big Daddy's second pose would clench their fingers when they're presenting a counterpoint, hands look awful, terrible symmetry...That second panel response implies the only goddamn reason to make his comics is to spark a controversy. He's admitting he wants to be a contrarian hipster that's only good to piss people off. And then he gets pissed when others are pissed at him. Guys, why are all these people whipping me? All I did was ask for a whipping! Cmon guys.

God I hate those grotesque floating lines he uses to imply movement. We KNOW they've moved, because they've changed fucking position. You know what motion lines are meant for? Illustrating changes quickly when it's more complex or fast than "raises arm".

I know it's been 8 years since you were in college, Dobson, and even longer since you wanted to be around people, but something anyone who's drawing should know is that necks attach near the back of the head. When you draw a head and still attach the neck at the middle of it regardless of angle, you are a terribad artist. None of these heads even look attached. They look floating with a body underneath, when as a part of a body they should look like they belong.

Shut up about those shitty DIC cartoons Dobson. They were fucking terrible.

Since we're all about wanting to see improvement, whether it's Tom or ourselves, I thought I'd confess that even I have had a personal struggle with Tangents. Then somebody posted this in either /ic/ or /co/ http://www.floobynooby.com/pdfs/gesturedrawingforanimation.pdf

Now if Dobby was to read and study that PDF for a month he'd actually improve, but we know that'll never happen. After all he's content with his mediocrity.

As for Tangents which is discussed in detail in that PDF, I concluded that when I do my finished pencils ( usually the 3rd step in my pencilling process ) and I come across a tangent I move the lines to avoid them regardless if it doesn't add up to the anatomy of the character. I might miss them, so when it comes to inking I do the same thing, grabbing the ones I missed.

After practicing that and making it a natural habit I found that it works. After all drawing is just an illusion using lines and colors. I try not to sweat the position and location of lines, because I know that if I lay a good body structure before any details are added it will look good no matter where the lines go because the bodies are in proportion.

But then that takes us back to Dobby who has shown us over and over again he doesn't have proper body structures in place before he begins. It's just circles and rectangles laid out with no concept of where things should be, how long they are, and inconsistencies. ( that last AzP story arc was full of them )

That's where the Gesture part of that PDF comes in handy. Hell even spending a week or month doing full body silhouettes will engrave the information of how the body works so it isn't alien to an artist when they're making a comic strip.

TLR, drawing is just like good penmanship. When we were kids we all worked on handwriting over and over again until it looked consistent and readable. It also evolves as we get older. Drawing Cartoon characters, realistic portraits, caricatures, or landscape paintings are no different. Each is full of techniques that have to be practiced over and over again and just penmanship they evolve over time.

Dobby doesn't get that-- all his " hardwork " was the 4 years spent in college. That was suppose to be good enough and according to him it wasn't. So he blames them, not himself.

That's what we thought it was suppose to be, making guns harder to get, but it wasn't.

Gun Supporters were flipping their shit over this, but in reality the only major change was more background checks in areas where there aren't any. Like gun shows, which are basically flea-markets, but with guns. The reality is the bill didn't do enough outside of that.

When it got shot down in the Democrate led Senate Obama's speech afterwards showed everyone what the bills real intent was. It wasn't suppose to pass at all. It was supposed to be shot down in the Republican led Congress. The Republicans were suppose to reject it so Democrats could use it as campaign fuel in 2014.

That's what the Immigration Reform Bill is as well. It's suppose to be so far out there that it has no chance to pass-- in the Congress that is. Again, they'll use that for 2014.

When one keeps up with politics after a while you see these little tricks both sides play, and the party in power will play them the most. The campaign for 2014 started the day after the 2012 election. And that's important because Democrats want control of everything so they got 2 years of passing anything they desire.

Now I'm not going to say they're all bad things, but these are the games they play to push future legislation no matter what it is. In most cases it's always something that will get them votes, there is no requirement for it to be good legislation. As long as it's a talking point and something they could use against the other side they'll pass it.

Republican... Democrat...it doesn't matter. Their only concern is getting re-elected and hopefully be the party in power, and we all suffer from it. Although the real victims are the idiots who buy what a politician tells them. Who blindly follow a party because of their own morals and they buy the lie that they're looking out for you.

Truth is no deed is unselfish. If someone says they'll do something for you, they probably want something in return. Thing is with government they don't need results, because if they can't deliver, they'll just use that to blame the other side.

Rinse/Repeat long enough and that is how revolutions start.
