Galactus is not invisible or invincible.
His appearance varies, as each race that views him sees him differently. He's technically a "star" with God-like cosmic powers. He also dies several times in the comics (such as in the alternate universe wherein his place is taken by The Hunger, which is much worse than Galactus in terms of appetite).
