so in the last two days, Konami both officially canceled production on Silent Hills (http://www.pcgamer.com/silent-hills-reportedly-canned-amid-rumoured-kojima-exit/) and delisted itself from the New York Stock Exchange (http://www.polygon.com/2015/4/27/8503893/konami-delists-itself-from-new-york-stock-exchange), and seem to have removed Hideo Kojima from their team. what the fuck are they doing? they (supposedly) get rid of someone who was ostensibly one of the only reasons people continued to buy Konami games and then cancel a very highly anticipated IP. i think they're trying to pull an annual/bi-annual release in the vein of CoD/Assassin's Creed in order to boost profits, and Kojima wasn't having any of that bullshit. WHAT DO YOU THINK, INTERNET
Oh dears, I guess after MGS5 Konami is gonna be in big trouble for real and realize they just fucked themselves.
i have a bad feeling that if MGS5 sells well they'll try and turn it into their own personal yearly cash cow, since they own the franchise with or without Kojima. they shot themselves in the foot 8 million times and then went "HAHA WE TOTALLY MEANT TO DO THAT" so many poor decisions
Pro Evolution Soccer and Castlevania seem to be their only major titles beside Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hill but I doubt either of them sells as much as MGS or SH.......
the recent castlevania was shit... this was literally the last thing they actually had going for them
This could be a good thing considering the last few Silent Hill games werent all that good, they should go a new direction, hopefully a good one and not make some faggot game about a tranny named Spunky trying to save up money to get his dick chopped off, which would probably sell a lot considering todays "gaymers" are fucking pent up homosexuals, I should probably try to expand on this idea and sell it.
the fact that recent Silent Hill games have been almost universally shit is precisely why this is such a disappointment and a huge hit to the future of the SH franchise - Guillermo del Toro was signed on, Kojima was signed on, and if the "demo" PT was a sign of what could have been if production continued on this game, it could have breathed life back into the genre.
Yes, but the FIFA franchise is worth billions, I personally havent bought a new one since 2010, because since 2008 the gameplay is basically the same and all that they do each year is revise the shitty rating system fix one or two things and break about 5, its all about online to them now anyways, theres a LOT of loyal PES fans out there though and even though they probably dont sell as many copies as EA does with FIFA (100,000,000) they do sell a pretty penny, considering they havent changed their gameplay since 2009 its a miracle people still buy their game as well. To me its one of those things that doesnt make sense but is popular now a days, like drinking Mountain Dew is supposed to make you a "nerd" or "cool" or a "gaymer" yet the last time I tasted Mountain Dew (I was 12) it tasted like piss mixed with sugar, and no amount of douchefags wearing suspenders and black rimmed glasses is gonna make me change my mind, hell even "Surge" tasted better than that shit.
Mountain Dew actually tastes good when you start drinking it but the more you drink the more the taste gradually becomes unbearable. This is something I found very strange about it or maybe that's just me.
