If you want to justify the incoherent changes to the type of travel, at least do a better job. There is no scale of distance to measure why taking the train takes 4 days vs 5 hours by blimp(?). By this map's design, it shows that only two major cities have train stops. It shows the closest possible train stop for where they need to go is in another country. Why even have a train system then? Come to think of it, what are the sections of lands anyways? Are they states? Countries? What is that section in the middle? Don't map legends usually use diagonal lines to denote structures? Take a look that this map legend as an example:

Train, takes 4 days
Regular passenger airship, takes a day and a bit
An airship that look like a well armed battleship, takes 5 hours

Okay lets do a rough calculation here, I'm using these as basic;
Steam Locomotive : 125 kmh (based on 1910 Russian train, with full load of passenger carts)
Zeppelin L2 120 : 132 kmh (the smallest)
B12 Stratofortress : 462 kmh (4 engines)
Peregrine : 256 kmh (hypothetical, using engine from B12)

Vanilakun straight to Gehenna
5 hours travel by Peregrine = 5 x 256 = 1280 km (approx) / 795 miles

Rail distance, lets just say it would take twice the time to get there, including stopping at stations.
10 x 1280 = 2560 km / 1591 miles
Steam locomotive travel time
2560 / 125 = 20,48

Conclusion; 20 hours 48 minutes
Could be more, but I don't see any other towns indicated near the railways. Even so, it wouldn't take 4 bloody days to reach the station closest to Gehenna.

what's the dark stuff around Salamanstra? Some sort of forbidden danger area (that is safe to fly over? no wonder they get attacked by a monster) but why would there be huge (the titles are IN ALL CAPS so I assume the cities are big/important) cities all around it?
Also, this land has no rivers at all. (I assume the lines are borders of the kingdoms) and no roads. This map is useless.

If some big disaster happened in Salamanstra that caused the central part of the country to be separated from the rest and made uninhabitable (hence the chapter 0) then the "map" really does not convey it at all. Plus the geographical shapes just scream "fake". Nothing in nature is as smooth and curvy.
Take Valyria from the Song of Ice and Fire for example:

even from the map alone you can tell that something happened to that peninsula. There are old roads stretching across it, but it's all torn into islands and fucked up (compared to the rest of the coast). You take one glance at the map and know that there's something off with this land.
JJ's map though? Fucking confusing and conveying no info at all. And the Birah country/kingdom/whatever is a fucking joke. No thought or developement went to it (as fitting for this disaster of a comic).

I'm gonna think the stupid-ass country configuration in Salamandar Hunters doesn't have a plot reason.

That's the first thought I had of when I saw his map. lol But, JJ is such a weeb and unoriginal, I'm not totally sure if he's going to rip that plot point off of FMA or not. I wouldn't be surprised if he did.

Wait I just realized. Is Valyss actually the name of the country? And Salamandar is... what? The Forbidden Zone? And if so is he actually asking her if she's aware of a country that borders her own? Does... does he really think she's that much of a stupid bumpkin? It would be like asking an American if they've heard of Canada. Even we haven't been THAT mean to her.

Or is Valyss the region? The continent? The WORLD? How stupid does he assume this girl is?

Judging from the fact that she's never seen an airship before (while not living far from civilisation) she must be a super sheltered girl who never left her cottage. Either that, or stupid. She just stares at everything, wide-eyed. So I don't really blame the guy for explaining everything, she's definitely not bright.

Seriously though, why not just have the fucking map on a wall and have him point it out. Hell if they're so technologically advanced, why not a projector and a laser pointer. The ship is talking out of its ass.

Also your map sucks, bro. Where are the cities? Are there fortresses or bases of any kind since there are "monsters?"
There aren't even any fucking dots on the map to designate train stops? And yeah, besides the Full Metal Shilling, why the hell is this country circular?

And there's no reason to have a big candid close up of a character like that unless you're first introducing them. We've been putting up with Eyes Wide here being ineffective and boring for a while now.
