The summary is just a way to cover up Andrew's poor sense of exposure. The fact that he has to tell instead of show is a sign of laziness. For example, Gamzee is an incredibly one-dimensional character. Instead of demonstrating actual friendship with Karkat he had to explicitly state that they're best friends in their first convo just to make the whole "I don't want to kill you because you're my bff" thing possible. Whereas you see Sollux as a better candidate of being Karkat's good buddy as you actually see a legitimate friendship between the two.
Hmm well I rushed through reading HS a few months ago. It was fun at first and I liked the Flash bits and later on some interactive Flash, but after the troll arc (I can't remember all the names of the acts), I thought it was cute but it dragged. I was thankful for the summaries but at the same time yes his writing had seemed to have gotten a bit weaker since prior to Gamzee and Karkat being best friends or whatever, I had no indication even if I was told in text. I agree that Karkat has a better relationship with Sollux or even Nepta hehe. That and towards the end of the troll arc it just seemed like he wanted to shove the rest of the zodiac patrons out as fast as possible so I don't understand how people can call Aquarius guy (Eridan?) heartless and cruel and whateverelse because there wasn't a lot of time spent on developing his character. I think Hussie tried to give the trolls more depth with their Ancestor backstory but then again other characters end up falling short and I don't think we're going back to that part any time soon.
Lol I didn't even know they had names haha. I just kept calling them white fox/dog because I haven't re-read the series in a while. I did however have fun translating the Morse code.
The ancestors were meant to predict the fate of the trolls. Mindfang kills Redglare which translated into Terezi killing Vriska. Actually, Mindfang's use was to develop Vriska as she wanted to be the typical Mary Sue but ended up being a rather complex and three-dimensional character. Eridan's development is rather debatable, the last flash game he appeared in developed him a lot and made him an interesting villain with an actual reason behind his murders. Jack is just a bored psychopath who wants to destroy shit, Scratch just had to pave way for English's introduction and Gamzee was a boring plot device with his rampage being reduced to nothing as we see Kanaya's comeback. idk I sure hope Lord English or Feferi's ancestor make better villains
Did he die? I thought he was hanging out with Aradia, or Karkat? I don't know. And yeah, I didn't play the last few flash games because I got bored with it by then but it's good that Eridan got some character development. As for character 'deaths' I got a bit confused by the god tier requirements. So the original kids went into the session (the game) but were still in their physical bodies? It's not like Virtual Reality or anything like that? So then after their dreamselves died, they then went to god tier? So did their human bodies die when their dreamselves did? That part has always confused me. I assume they're all currently living in the game but they're not alive anymore, as in their physical bodies?
Yeah I was confused with the whole "your dream self can get god tier" concept. It seems pretty... lazy. It was used to get Aradia back in the story and once that happened, I knew that Dave and Rose would ascend because of that. Sollux had two dream selves. He died and lived again through one of them; the other was killed with the rest of Derse. So the Sollux we see floating with Aradia is just Sollux' soul which escaped from the dream bubble. I'm pretty sure it's like Aradia's deadself from the start of act five.
So far, Gamzee, Terezi and Karkat whose realselves (lol idk what to use) haven't died; their dreamselves are confirmed dead.
Wait what? How did their dreamselves die, on Derse? I thought that was their actual planet name haha. Oops.
Dave and Rose found their Derse beds and obtained God tier like Aradia did by killing themselves on the beds... so that those bodies would reach god tier.... yeah...
Oh okay....so if their dreamselves die they they can't go 'got tier' as I've seen it? hehe. If that's the case, then why did Hussie make all of the GT hoodies? I thought it was only for a few characters?
But I thought I read that everyone will go GT now because he introduced all of the symbols. Hm....does he not like fandom speculation or did he just want to make more money?
He really doesn't like fan works? Well that would explain the rest of the zodiac trolls and why towards the end of the arc they hardly got any character development.
Are you a fan of Sollux? hehe I'm not much into the fandom part of HS, but I assume people were drawing the rest of the zodiac characters before they were introduced, same with the GT designs? That's interesting.
I just post shitty art I see If it's HS then I put it here I don't give a shit about it any further than that
