Just download the fucking thing, its only a 1 GB. I have some issues with the game. Why can't i get any fucking decent planets off the bat? Why are the Sophons trying to either get me involved in wars i have no interest in fighting OR trying to steal my Monopolized mold/vines/dust? (Inb4 spacejews.) Hissho are the Zerg, 15 minutes into a game Hissho warships pop up everywhere, and they are NEVER friendly. Pilgrims will do nothing else but fucking die.
Tends to happen alot, restart until u get something nice. And play in easy mode, it's much more fun, that way you can develope a sound expansion strategy, instead of fighting silly skirmishes all the time. And don't spam colonies, after a while population stars to get all bitchy if u overexpand. Key point is having people in fervent status, thus reduce taxes until u barely get Dust, Dust is the least important resource here, hands down.
I do that, the most i can get is three planets, only one of those will have a extra resource in it (digital items, herbs/ gems.) I play in easy mode, the Sophons spam messages at me. "Gife me all your monopolized shit and we will give you shiny beads!" Also Hissho go Zerg as soon as they have the resources to do so.
That's enough *********** Ignore those motherfuckers ************* You can customize the galaxy at the start to avoid Hissho, if u like
To make a functional army, it seems to be two paths: a couple or two of big ass ships, or a fleet of 10-13 (depending on the hero level) Destroyers Also, getting right the scientific developments is key, first one must be N-way fusion plants, to boost industry http://forums.amplitude-studios.com/forumdisplay.php?2-Endless-Space http://forums.amplitude-studios.com/showthread.php?7895-Tutorial-for-Beginners.
I've found in my games the Hissho are really good at wearing other empires down to nothing with just repeated suicide attacks and wars of attrition, I don't even know where they are getting the resources to just endlessly build light attack ships.
Yeah, I'm not sure about the AI cheating Anyways, you can tune a planet to work as a massive factory mid-game, and start spamming Destroyers like crazy In late game, I was making like 15-20 Destroyers/turn in my home planet in my first (and only for the moment, lol...I'll start another one this afternoon) game.
For the amount of money I paid, I'm ok with that. The most annoying thing for me it's the combat system, which amounts to a dumbed down and totally random version of Magic. And it's totally obscure too, you can lose a battle against a fleet 1/5 of yours, depending on the equpment on the ships, the tech level and more things which aren't explained at all, nor easily deduced. I almost always play the battles in automatic mode, it's the same tacticaly wise and less boring
