But ultimately, I have to agree with this:

I've been going in and out to two of Indonesian islands for distance relative visit, Bali and Java (cousin and uncle work as an expatriate and married locals). And I myself stationed near Singapore.

Something I learn about that;
- It would be nice if Indonesians do eat monkeys, then there won't be any problems with monkey colonies infesting Hindu temples and harrassing tourist (has anyone seen the video where a Taiwanese chick bra stripped off by a monkey in Bali?).

- Never heard of people eating komodo dragon, even the native villagers in komodo island treat them like a "brother" (yes they let komodo roam around the village and doesn't bother it).
I think what people in Java island do eat is monitor lizard. I've seen one of the hunter hanging two monitor lizards by its tail, they are cat sized. Why do they eat it? Good for the skin they say... I might tried their monitor lizard shish- kebab one day. Then again lizards are also hard to come by.

- Rats, yes... some food seller looking for cheap meat alternative to beef will often use gutter rat meat and lied their customer about it. Also cat is another viable alternative meat, as there are plenty of stray cats around. And I never seen so many damn cats roaming around in a neighbourhood.

- Indonesian Jew (suprisingly yes, people in one particular region have jewish blood in them) eat dogs, especially black dogs. I think this was due to Flips cuisine influence?

- Bats and rabbits! They tasted like chicken!

- Sea turtle shish-kebab, which I strongly dislike...

- And last of all... the most bizarre Indonesian cuisine I've ever heard is DIRT CRACKER made 100% from mother natures earth soil. That thing has no nutritional value and I have no clear idea why they eat it.

Just because something ~tastes~ like chicken doesn't mean that it is. You need to be a bit careful with some things. For example if you started eating primarily nothing but rabbit you can easily wind up with protein poisoning as a result.

For example the current going delusion that Soursop fruit is a ~magical~ cancer cure which is being ~suppressed~ by the evul corporations and what not.
