Thanks, I'd like to see them. =) I think the first image I posted of her's it looked like another artist from the eyes. I think it might be Delon's.

And yeah, I think I might even have an older issue with her in it, now that I think about it. I don't believe I've used it because her work made me pause, since it went from messy to photorealistic in a matter of steps. Seems suspect.

That new one of hers you just posted the link to is pretty dead-on to the original master piece. Like. Completely accurate....

Yeah, I just did a comparison in Photoshop since she gave the original file and I was one, surprised by her steps because there is no lineart to speak of, which is fine but I find it weird that from step 5 to step 6 there's a blurry mess at the bottom and then suddenly feet. Seems weird. And two, that when I did overlay the original with her work it was dead on, only hers had weird texture and shiny eyes.

Thanks for posting that, Lurerella! No idea why my link doesn't work, I can click on it and it says other people have visited it, too. Hmm :(

LOL @ faking studies, how desperate can you get?

Her original apology journal was much longer and apologetic than that. I can't believe she started with "I'm sorry, I made a mistake" then quickly turned it into blaming Jana, claiming they had 'personal vendetta' (AFAIK they met only once at Lolita's party and that was it) and basically just crying and victimizing herself.

The piece she stole from Olivier pisses me off the most, but apparently he's seen it and is okay with it. Whatever. But she did write a journal saying how someone "more popular" (her words) won Ballistic award instead of her. That's all it is to her, a popularity contest.

And fuck me for remembering all this shit. I need brain bleach.

Oh sorry, I think it was my ad blocker that wouldn't let me see it the first time. I don't know why but now it's blocking just regular images on websites instead of what I've told it to block (like ads). Hm.

Yeah that's pretty crazy. Just seeing her attitude in her journals and her rising and falling scale of work is baffling. This really makes me want to email IFX and let them know what they're doing. It's not right.

Though on some of these images it seems odd that just using a photo of an actress or reusing her old work is considered bad. You can stick closely to a reference of a celebrity, I've seen a lot of people do that and they still don't give credit. So I'm a bit iffy on that, but yeah the rest of the images aren't working in her favour.

I think people gathered those images to show how much she overpaints and just how lazy she is. There are faces she's reused three, four times, and since Melanie and Linda aren't posting anymore, she's running out of faces to use :p There's nothing bad about referencing celebs, but I'd still prefer if she (and other artists who do the same) said who she ref'd. It doesn't bother me nearly as much as photo-manipulating and lying about it does.

I thought Delon was still painting? Why did Linda stop? I remember seeing her work when I was starting out and I was floored since I thought she did it all by hand. It's a pity though that they were probably some if not all photo-manips. =(

And yes it does look like Azurelle has a case of same face. o_o

Well, I just finished a study of an apple but I referenced it from Google but didn't cite it because well, it's just an apple. Should I cite minor things like that? You can't copyright a pose, so I rarely do that unless I'm trying to draw it to a T, and then I cite my reference.

It's not bad to do that, but given her attitude towards art and how much she stole herself this just ends up adding up to the pile of bad things...

Hard working artist who does that will never get in trouble, people like her do.

Synthia, you'd be better off learning from this guy. http://www.cgsociety.org/index.php/CGSFeatures/CGSFeatureSpecial/michael_kutsche
He's an award winning artist from Hollywood, done so many major titles, and not to mention all the prestige. He has some great tutorials.

Wow, for all the mad respect Jason Manley gets on Concept Art, and reading so many of his mature sounding posts, it's a shock. But I judge a person on their actions, not what they say or how they look. When I saw him telling everybody on CA how all those downright selfish private art schools charging end on end the student tuition which drowns them in debt for years and his buffing on the high class artists who help teach on CA and were booming successes in the entertainment industry without an art degree, it made enough of the impression he was the righteous maverick making a huge sacrifice for the common man and the art school route was just plain wrong, no questions asked. But I did know one fact in the back of my mind, in regards to CalArts and Otis College Of Art and Design, those 2 places being legendary schooling for many dead and present artists, actors and directors of no doubt, that there might be something wrong with Jason's prerogative advice. You can make it without art school, but many growing artists need guidance and learning how to work with other people, esp. in the entertainment industry, unlike say, being an illustrator for childrens' books.

I have noticed a certain "staleness" about CA, that I can pinpoint out in words, but brings the quality of the site down quiet a bit.

Delon still paints, but rarely puts her work online/in high resolution. I think she's just focusing on commissions and creating her own books. As for Linda, she left after the drama and I don't blame her at all, some nasty things were said. I think she did use photo parts, but she also painted a lot and no-one can deny her talent and creativity. Too bad she lied about the methods, but everything she did was so unique and beautiful, with a strong idea to back it up. If you've seen her handmade masks you'll know what I mean.

LOL I think you're cool, people rarely cite photo study references. It only gets complicated when you use someone else's copyrighted work for your own monetary gain.

Unffff Kutsche, he is a great artist!

    @KimmoAlmPhoenix
I agree with you. Jason had good intentions, CA used to be a wonderful place to learn and Massive Black workshops must've been great fun to attend. He did a lot of shit out of stress, it was privacy invasion that really did it for me. To build an empire and then lose people's trust over nothing, it could have been avoided. CA sold the image of "celebrity artist", which of course appeals to young people, especially because artists are always pushed in the background. Very few people outside the industry will know your name if you're a concept artist. It's a clever business model, I'm glad they had success with it and used it to create high quality content like downloads. But Jason really fucked it up when he complained about people not giving him enough money all the while preaching free education and whatnot. This was around Christmas, so of course people were too broke to buy tutorials. CA will have to step their game up if they want the community to be strong again.

Fuck you, and may you all get raped and shat upon while you walk home.

    All the best.

I have too since I got back. I guess if so many people left then it's probably part of it, but it's like they don't do as much as they used to.

Thanks, I'll check him out. I think he might've contributed a tutorial to IFX because that pig creature thing looks similar to another well rendered caricature.

And yeah, art school isn't bad. You just have to know what you want out of it. A lot of people without art degrees have a slim chance of making it in the traditional art realm and in digital art I think it's geared more towards animation and 3D work. So yeah, it depends. But art school isn't bad. I learned a lot from my degree that I wouldn't have known otherwise.

CA seems a bit more quite than it has in the past, and I don't see a lot of people's new work on their banner icons.

I'll add the staleness of CA is like gourmet bread well beyond the expiry date.

Jason needs to put in art ads and increase traffic on his website so he can support CA with revenue.

On the blogs of the artists themselves. go look up android jones and friends and when you find one blog you'll find a shitload of other jawdropping artists.

Not sure what your point is? Personal websites aren't community websites. Andrew is still associated with CA because he doesn't give a fuck, his career is his own and he teaches a lot anyway. It's just an extra source of income at this point.

I should add the student galleries of CalArts, Art Center, California College Of The Arts, Rocky Mountain College Of Art And Design, and other famous art schools will be added to the list, as these colleges aren't afraid to discriminate only for talent.

    DA was never good.
There is no art site that is truly good because Tartlets migrate to there like SNapesnogger and rub their horrible fetish shit all over the place.

they need to make photoshop illegal without a permit to stop teenage hipster weeaboo faggots from drawing bad shit that has no right to exist.

Concept art going quiet? well that's just the sad state art itself is dying, at least they didn't become fetish porn disguised as art central in order to keep traffic going.
